There are a few places that serve bubble tea in West Vancouver – a juice stall in the Park Royal Mall, Chef Hung, and a fish n’ chips shop called Pisces – but I can’t say that I know of any bubble tea cafes in the area before I found out about Bubble Tree Cafe. Finally, Real Chinese Food in West Van: Shanghai Village

There is a lack of quality Chinese food in West Van, so I was quite excited when I found out about Shanghai Village as I drove by its front doors on my way home one day. I was even more excited when I found out that it was an established and fairly well-regarded authentic Shanghainese restaurant transplanted from Vancouver proper. What ‘Chinese food’ is to the average citizen of a landlocked, non-diverse North American city, ‘Indian food’ is to me

Handi –  I’m as much an expert on Indian food as the average citizen of Fargo, North Dakota is on Chinese cuisine. Although I’ve eaten Indian food several times yearly for the last decade and a half, I’ve never gone further than plain naan, plain jasmine rice, tandoori chicken, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and a few other ‘westernized’ staples of the North American Indian restaurant lunch buffet. Pinkberry – When I first moved here, I wondered where all the frozen yogurt places were. Southern California being the last place in North America that I’ve spent significant time in, I was used to the Starbucks-like presence of frozen yogurt shops at various local malls, plazas, and commercial areas.
